Transfer to Lake Sandoval. Motorized canoe trip of about 55 minutes, to the access entrance to the Tambopata reserve – Lake Sandoval. During the canoe trip down the river you will have the opportunity to observe the lifestyle of the local population that lives on the river bank.
3 km walk on the shores of Lake Sandoval. We will observe the great diversity of flora species in this area and as monkeys and other animals that live in the Tambopata Reserve. Where we will board a canoe to paddle through the lake enjoying the beauty of the landscape and observing wildlife, such as kingfishers, herons, shanshos (birds look for unique prehistoric), cormorants, etc. If we are lucky we can see the giant otter family of river that live there.
Lunch in the canoe or in a typical local shelter. After lunch, we will have the opportunity to have a time to relax or swim in the lake.
In the late afternoon, a large number of noisy parrots and macaws arrive at palm trees from all over the lake to their nets to spend the night.
It is time to undertake the return to the Madre de Dios River to return to Puerto Maldonado.
